At Tuesday’s meeting in Hanoi between VOV Deputy Director General Vu Hai and his Lao counterpart, Vorasack Pravongviengkham, both also agreed on boosting personnel training to meet the needs of modern broadcasting at each station.

In addition to introducing VOV’s development over the past 70 years, Hai noted that VOV will launch a television channel featuring National Assembly activities this December and open an overseas bureau in the Czech Republic. Hai clarified future cooperation between VOV and the LNR:

In the future, we will organize more delegations for reporters to go on field trips to each other’s countries. The exchange programs will be conducted in the mode of FTP data sharing which is fast, of high quality, and match the technical parameters of each station. Exchange programs are mainly music and tourism programs, and programs to introduce typical examples of each other’s lives. The two stations can make full use of information from each other’s websites. We hope that the LNR will contribute opinions to the Lao Ministry of Information so that the agency can agree on the location for VOV to build a broadcasting station next year.
