VOV’s Japanese section celebrates 50th anniversary

(VOVworld) – The Voice of Vietnam Radio on Thursday celebrated the 50th anniversary of its Japanese service. Delegates recalled their memories of the first broadcasts in 1963. Doan Thi Trung, Director of VOV’s Overseas Service, said the establishment and development of the Japanese language broadcast over half a century has created a bridge of friendship to enhance mutual understanding between Vietnam and Japan.

VOV Deputy Director General Vu Hai said VOV aims to develop towards a multi-media agency and develop the Overseas Service into a national broadcasting channel to meet the increasing demand for information from foreign listeners."I believe that with its 50 years of tradition, enthusiasm, passion, profession, and listeners’ support, the staff of the Japanese language section will fulfill all its tasks, contributing to the Vietnam-Japan comprehensive strategic partnership and fostering mutual understanding between their people.", Hai said.

In recent years, the Japanese section has continuously improved program content to promptly reflect developments in Vietnam and its relations with Japan. Listeners worldwide can listen to the Japanese program and the other 11 language programs on the website www.vovworld.vn or www.vov5.vn.
