Rose is a popular Valentine's item

Another popular Valentine feature is the exchange of greeting cards. Quang Ba flower market is selling many varieties of roses. Nguyen Thuy Trang says the Ecuador rose is dominant this year: “The Ecuador rose is extremely beautiful and rare. Each branch is 1.2m to 1.5m long. Many customers make order by phone. One bunch costs 2 to 4 million VND.”

In addition to the traditional chocolate, there are nicely-packaged chocolates with new flavors like ham, onion, oyster, and even grass. In Hanoi’s supermarkets, imported chocolates are priced from 100,000 VND to 400,000 VND per box. Nguyen Thanh Trung of Hanoi says:“This year’s Valentine market is diverse.
