High-tech agricultural production is a way for Vietnam to develop a modern, smart, environment-friendly agriculture.

Minister-Chairman of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung said: “The State Bank of Vietnam assigns commercial banks to reserve a credit package with a lower than normal interest rate to support high-tech agriculture enterprises.”

Nguyen Quoc Hung, Director of the Credit Department of the State Bank of Vietnam, said SBV and relevant agencies will work together to build criteria for disbursing capital to high-tech agriculture businesses and producers.

Minister Mai Tien Dung said: “The government intends to offer the best possible conditions for businesses by revising land laws and decrees. Local administrations will manage land and contract with businesses to invest in high-tech agricultural production. The Prime Minister has asked localities to establish cooperatives and cooperation groups. Businesses will supply farmers with seedlings and technology, teach them procedures for producing clean products with high added value, and manage outlets.”

Strong investment in high-tech agriculture will make agriculture Vietnam’s spearhead sector during international integration and a main pillar of Vietnam’s economy.
