(VOVworld)-Located in northeast Vietnam, Cao Bang province borders Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang province to the west, Bac Kan and Lang Son province to the south and Guangxi, China to the north and east. The province is blessed with ranges of mountains, forests and long rivers.

The beauty of Cao Bang changes with each season, but for many people, autumn is the best time when the Ban Gioc waterfall is full of water, and November and December, when colorful wild flowers blossom throughout the forest. Cao Bang province with its ranges of magnificent mountains and primeval forests is home to Ban Gioc waterfall, Nguom Ngao grotto, and Thang Hen lake. Hoang Thi Ngoc Anh, who lives in Cao Bang says: “Ban Gioc waterfall is the most famous destination in Cao Bang. It is most beautiful in October when it’s full of water. There are big and small waterfalls. There are thatched houses at the foot of the waterfall where you can fish and admire the landscape”.

Ban Gioc waterfall is one of the biggest border waterfalls in the world and the biggest natural waterfall in Southeast Asia. It’s also the most beautiful waterfall in Vietnam and the most famous destination in Cao Bang. The waterfall is amazingly magnificent. 3 km from the waterfall is Nguom Ngao grotto whose spectacular stalagmites assume magical shapes.

The next stop on the Cao Bang tour is Phuc Sen village, where Nung ethnic minority people live. The village is famous for the forging craft. Ms Ngoc Anh says: “The village is still primitive and local people still dress in their traditional indigo brocade costumes. Dying indigo for the clothes is very complicated process as local people have to boil the indigo leaves, then grind and dry them for several days. Nung people are also famous for the knife forging craft”.

After a day spent exploring Cao Bang, at night, tourists can sample the local cuisines. Hot pot is the most famous dish. Tourists can also try the local pickle noodle with various vegetables, roast duck and sour bamboo shoots. This primitive land has all this and more for you to discover. Go and see it for yourself.
