(VOVworld) - Van Loc Temple Festival held triennially on the 15th and the 16th of the first lunar month in Cua Lo town, Nghe An has attracted a large number of visitors this year.Van Loc Temple – the ancient architecture – was built during the Le Trung Hung dynasty (1533-1789). Although it has undergone many ups and downs, the vestige remains intact and harbors many valuable items.

The temple worships high-ranking mandarin Nguyen Su Hoi (born in 1444 and died in 1506) – first-born child of the Great tutor Nguyen Xi who made great contributions to the fight against the enemy during the Le dynasty.

Nguyen Su Hoi was the founder of Cua Lo town. After he died, local people set up a temple to worship him.

This year’s festival attracted thousands of visitors to folk games, such as boat races, cock-fighting, human chess and tug of war contests.

In addition, a solemn and carefully orchestrated ritual ceremony was held, leaving a deep impression on participants.
