(VOVworld) – Leaders and citizens of Quang Tri province burned incense and laid a wreath to commemorate the 109^th birthday of late Party chief Le Duan at his monument in Dong Ha city on Thursday.

At the ceremony, participants recalled the life and revolutionary career of Duan who made great contributions to Vietnam’s liberation and development. He was a firm politician and wise leader who served as First Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Party General Secretary for 26 years. Duan, with President Ho Chi Minh and other Vietnamese leaders, designed the strategy for Vietnam’s victory in the anti-US war of resistance.
