This year’s Khau Vai Love Market Festival will begin next Saturday in the northernmost province of Ha Giang. Khau Vai, a famous market-day of the Dong Van Stone Plateau convened once a year on the 27^th day of the third lunar month is based on a love story about a boy and a girl who were forbidden to get married by their families. During the 4-day festival, tourists can enjoy cultural programs such as a Lo Lo ethnic group’s ceremony to pray for rain, and a demonstration of the Mong ethnic group’s pan-pipe culture.
