(VOVworld) - The 2014 Hue festival closed on Sunday. During 9 days, the festival attracted a record number of 2.4 million visitors including 100,000 foreign tourists from 115 countries, up 25% from last year.

Ngo Hoa, Vice Chairman of the Thua Thien Hue provincial People’s Committee, said: “This year’s festival was tended to be impressive, safe, and friendly. Relevant agencies and localities have been responsible and contributed a large part to the festival’s success.”

Hoa said that Hue is trying to build a Festival City, typical of Vietnam and the success of the Hue Festival will further promote the image of Vietnam, its land and people to international friends.
