2016 Lunar New Year celebrated in Israel, Algeria, and Australia

(VOVworld) – 250 Overseas Vietnamese attended a New Year get-together held by the Vietnamese embassy in Israel on Sunday. Ambassador Cao Tran Quoc Hai briefed the guests on Vietnam’s achievements in 2015, especially the successful 12th National Party Congress. The ambassador praised the contribution of Vietnamese people working and living in Israel. He said he hopes they will continue to promote cooperation between Vietnam and Israel.

The Vietnamese embassy in Algeria organized a meeting to celebrate the 2016 Lunar New Year on January 28th. Ambassador Vu The Hiep highlighted Vietnam’s achievements in national construction and defense and international integration during 2015. He also reviewed the development of Vietnamese-Algerian ties. Mr. Hiep emphasized the determination of the embassy staff to further develop the Vietnamese community and foster cooperative ties between Vietnam and Algeria.

Marking the occasion, the Vietnam Association of Farmers in Adelaide, Australia reviewed 30 years of developing the Vietnamese community and to celebrate the 2016 Lunar New Year. Representatives of the State of Adelaide hailed the considerable contribution made by the Vietnamese community to the state’s economic development, contributing 5 percent to the state’s budget.
