(VOVworld) - The Boao Forum for Asia, held in China's southern island Hainan Province, with the theme, "Globalization and Free Trade: The Asian Perspective". The Xinhua News Agency quoted the forum’s secretary general, Zhou Wenzhong, as saying that globalization is driven by social development and resulted in better poverty reduction.

He said anti-globalization will worsen world economic problems. A total of 44 seminars and 17 annual sessions－with four modules covering globalization, growth, reform and the new economy－will be held during the next four days. The event has attracted more than 1,700 delegates.
