(VOVworld) – The Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony in Hanoi on Saturday to mark the 80^th anniversary of Vietnam’s Militia and Self Defense Day March 28. The event was attended by President Truong Tan Sang, former Party leader Le Kha Phieu, former President Le Duc Anh, and Minister of National Defense General Phung Quang Thanh. President Sang said the Party and state believe that Vietnam’s militia and self defense forces will continue to grow to be worthy of the trust of the Party, state, and people.

The same day, President Sang attended the 6^th national congress of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in Hanoi.

He said: “The VCCI should continue its role of connecting and supporting businesses and business associations for higher effectiveness. It should increase the quality of its consultations for the Party and state on policies and draft documents concerning businesses and the business environment, which will be discussed at the 12^th National Party Congress.”
