9th Pan-Tonkin Gulf Economic Cooperation Forum
(VOVworld) - The 9th Pan-Tonkin Gulf Economic Cooperation Forum, themed “Cooperation in the Pan-Tonkin Gulf to build one axis and two wings”, opened in China’s Nanning city, in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on May 26.

The forum discussed the formation of a China-mainland Southeast Asia economic corridor and a cooperation network of Chinese and ASEAN port cities. About 500 delegates from China and ASEAN countries attended the forum.
Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Hong Truong told the forum that Vietnam values opportunities created by the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). He said Vietnam attaches importance to Pan-Tonkin Gulf economic cooperation and wants to enhance partnerships between ASEAN countries and China.
Stronger cooperation between ASEAN countries and China will augment bilateral trade, facilitate customs clearance and technology development, expand production capacity, and help develop transport networks, educational cooperation, people-to-people exchanges, and collaboration in environment and natural resource protection.
