He said that Vietnam is working on the summit’s theme, which will focus on how to create a new momentum for APEC economies in the face of the global economic slowdown.

Vietnam will work closely with the international business community, the NCAPEC, and US enterprises in particular, in all the activities of the APEC Year in 2017, Vinh said, while calling on US firms to continue backing Vietnam’s efforts to ensure APEC’s development and success. He suggested that they actively get involved in business dialogues and raise their concerns at APEC 2017 to make sure that the mechanism is appropriate to businesses’ needs.

Vinh said he hopes that the new US President will attend the event and visit Vietnam next year.
