Activities to mark 86th anniversary of Communist Party of Vietnam

(VOVworld) – On Wednesday, a delegation of the Party, State, National Assembly, Government, and Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) paid tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum in Hanoi as part of activities to mark the 86th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Attending the ceremony were Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, and President of the VFF Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan.

Major newspapers ran front page headlines hailing the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 3, 1930.

The People’s newspaper ran an editorial entitled “Faith and Love for the Party” which featured the Party’s tireless efforts to improve itself to better serve the nation and the people’s interests, especially in the new, open period and amid Vietnam’s strong international integration.  

The People’s Army newspaper ran an editorial highlighting the importance of Party building activities. The editorial said the Party’s appropriate policies have helped turn Vietnam into a middle-income country with remarkable achievements in poverty reduction. This has greatly improved Vietnam’s image and status in the international arena.
