In his article published on the Argentinean Resumen Latinoamericano magazine, Ramoneda wrote that the ruling creates an important legal basis to settle East Sea territorial disputes among other countries (Vietnam, Malaysia, Bruney, and Indonesia). He highlighted the economic and strategic significance of the East Sea which is an important trade route and an area rich in fuel and aquaculture. He also linked other incidents related to regional territorial disputes.

Professor Remoneda opposed to China’s groundless 9-dash-line claim and ignorance of other claimants’ interests, considering those acts aggressive. He also protested that China has hindered efforts to settle disputes peacefully and that it prevented foreign fishing operation in this region, threatened maritime freedom and safety, and hurt the environment.

On Saturday, overseas Vietnamese in Germany participated in a meeting in front of the Chinese Embassy in Berlin to show their support for the PCA’s ruling.
