PNR information is useful to detecting and prosecuting terrorists and criminals. It helps intelligence agencies operate against acts which threatens national interests and damages national security. PNR improves border check and prevents illegal immigration. The directive asks transport companies and travel agents to transfer their passengers’ information to the database. Analysis of PNR is done by the Interior Ministry, police, customs officers, federal security forces, and army intelligence officers.
