(VOVworld) – South Korean police on Tuesday said they had found the body of Yoo Byung-Eun, the fugitive owner and operator of the Sewol ferry that sank in April. The corpse was initially found on June 12 in a yard in Suncheon, 300km south of Seoul but police failed to realize it was Yoo because it was too badly decomposed. The police found several empty wine bottles at the scene but no evidence was to prove he had committed suicide or had been murdered .
Yoo was head of the family that owned ferry operator Chonghaejin Marine Corporation. Yoo became a fugitive immediately after the vessel Sewol sank on April 16, claiming 294 lives, mostly high school students, and left 10 people still missing
