(VOVworld)- The 9^th All-Army Emulation Congress opened in Hanoi on Wednesday with the participation of more than 700 delegates who are regarded as outstanding role models in the patriotic emulation movements.

The delegates reviewed the outcomes of emulation movements over the past five years and honored role models in the all-army forces. In his address, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said:“It’s important to continue with and promote the fine, glorious tradition of the Vietnamese People’s Army. The Vietnamese People’s Army needs to be loyal to the homeland, the nation and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, seriously follow the leadership of the Party and State, be united and strengthen the army in all aspects, resolutely defend national independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, national sea and islands, and protect the peaceful lives of the people and the Party, state and regime. The army needs to consistently strive to contribute to maintaining a peaceful, stable, cooperative and friendly environment to boost national development”.

The Prime Minister expressed his certainty that the all-army emulation movement would continue to motivate officers, soldiers, and national defense staff to make further efforts to contribute to national construction and defense.
