Celebrations of Reunification Day and May Day

(VOVworld) – Celebrations are underway throughout Vietnam to mark the Reunifcation Day on April 30 and May Day.  The Sa Pa summer tourism festival until June 30 features a cloud festival, the Cat Cat hamlet festival of the Mong ethnic group, a program of experiencing farm work in Ta Phin commune, and other cultural and sports activities.

The Mong Cai Tourism Week opened on Saturday night in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province.

Culture-Tourism Village of Vietnamese ethnic groups highlight a northern market session entitled “Visiting Moc Chau plateau”. Its 50 pavilions recreate the ethnic market space with folk singing, traditional games, food court, and display of specialties of the Mong, Dao, Thai, Muong, Khmu, and Tay people. Nguyen Thi Phuong from Son La province displayed her ethnic group’s specialties in the market:“I am very happy to be here. I brought with me typical items such as brocade products. Visitors enjoy our food very much.”

In Kim Lien relic site, the home village of President Ho Chi Minh in Nghe An province, domestic and foreign visitors pay floral tributes to the great leader. Somkiat Kingsada, a tourist from Laos, said:“I have read and been told about President Ho Chi Minh. Now visiting his home village, I must say that he was a great man. His home village is as simple as many rural areas of Vietnam. The frugality demonstrates that President Ho Chi Minh was great. He is an example for all of us to follow suit.”

The International Hot Air Balloon Festival 2017 in Hue gathered 10 teams from the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia, Thailand, France, Malaysia, the Republic of Korea, Switzerland, Japan, and Vietnam.

The Hue traditional craft festival opens with a display of handcraft items from various countries, an exhibition of 30 antiques of the Nguyen dynasty, and an exhibition Vietnamese ao dai.

The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival opened on Saturday night with extravaganza performances on Han River, in addition to street music festivals and a parade of cyclos.

On Sunday, the 29th Ho Chi Minh TV national cycling tournament and a parade of bicycles opened in Ho Chi Minh City.
