China releases book honoring Nguyen Son, a general of both Vietnam and China
(VOVworld) – A seminar to debut a book about Nguyen Son, a General of both Vietnam and China, was held in Beijing on October, 21. Vietnamese Ambassador to China Dang Minh Khoi said the book was introduced on the 60th anniversary of the death of General Nguyen Son, which showed China’s gratitude for General Nguyen Son’s contributions to the Chinese revolution.

The book records the revolutionary life of General Nguyen Son in China and Vietnam after he followed President Ho Chi Minh’s appeal to go to Guangzhou, China, to study modern military science among other things.
He joined the Chinese Communist Party and became a high-ranking political cadre in the Chinese army and then a full member of the CCP’s Executive Central Committee before joining the Chinese “Long March”. He returned to Vietnam in late 1945 and held many high-level positions such as Chairman of the newly formed Resistance Committee for Southern Vietnam and Chief of Staff of the Defense Ministry.
