(VOVworld) – Vietnam Summit 2016, an annual conference on economics this year, themed “Smooth Sailing Ahead” was held in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and The Economist magazine.

Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son told the media that Vietnam Summit 2016 has drawn a large number of regional and global businesses this year. Vietnam introduced to them its national reform policy and its economic growth model restructuring from now until 2020.
The conference also introduced to the international business community Vietnam’s land, people, development prospects, and investment environment. Vietnam is a member of several regional economic alliances - ASEAN, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the Eurasian Economic Union, and an FTA with the EU.
Mr. Son said that in 2020, when all 16 free trade agreements between Vietnam and partners will be in effect, Vietnam will enjoy partnerships with 59 nations, including five permanent members of the UN Security Council, 15 of the G20 countries, and many emerging economies.
