(VOVworld) – Cuban President Raul Castro said Cuba hopes to continue the normalization of relations with the US and is ready to hold a respecful dialogue with US President Donald Trump.

In a summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) on Wednesday in Dominican Republic, President Castro said Cuba and the US can cooperate and coexist, respect the differences, and promote everything benefitial to both countries and people. He added that Cuba hopes to continue bilateral talks on pending issues with the US on the basis of equality, mutual concessions, and respect for Cuba’s sovereignty and independence.
