Cuban leader Raul Castro Ruz pays an official visit to Vietnam

(VOVworld)-Raul Castro Ruz, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of the State Council and the Council of Ministers has paid an official visit to Vietnam . This is the first visit to Vietnam by Raul Castro in his capacity as the leader of the Cuban Party, State and Government.

Vietnamese Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong held talks with President Castro Ruz on Sunday following an official welcoming ceremony. Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong said President Castro’s visit would raise bilateral friendship and cooperation between the two Parties, States and peoples to a new level:“We welcome and treasure the visit as a follow up step to promote the relations between the two Parties, States and peoples and concretize agreements reached in recent declaration. Vietnam always remembers and treasures Cuba ’s fine sentiments and wholehearted support to Vietnam ”
Both leaders agreed to promote exchanges of high-level visits to exchange experience in socio-economic development and Party building while continuing the education of younger generation on bilateral friendship. President Castro Ruz:“We welcomed Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong’s visit to Cuba last April. We discussed ways to promote economic and trade relations on par with bilateral potential. We need to strengthen bilateral friendship and learn from Vietnam ’s experience.”
Both sides reiterated the premium of socialism in sustainable development and for the people. They stressed that all international disputes need to be resolved through peaceful dialogue based on the UN Charter and on the basis of respecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity, non interference into countries’ internal affairs nor threat to use force.
