(VOVworld) – The Cuban press on Thursday highlighted the meetings between Cuban leader Fidel Castro and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

Cuban newspapers said that at the meetings, the two sides discussed the historic relations between Vietnam and Cuba as well as their experiences in socio-economic development. The two leaders also discussed the threat caused by climate change. The Granma newspaper summarized the biography of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and reported on the meetings between the Prime Minister with Cuban first Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel, and president of the Cuban Parliament, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, in the capital Havana. Cuba’s Rebellious Youth newspaper ran an article titled “Cuba and Vietnam: ready to foster relations in economics, trade, science and technology”. According to the newspaper, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung spoke highly of the achievements Cuba had made in various fields. He also expressed thanks for Cuba’s support towards Vietnam during its struggles for national liberation and national construction. Cuba TV, Prensa Latina and other online newspapers also updated news about Prime Minister Dung’s visit.
