(VOVworld) – A Buddhist cultural and art exchange was held on Tuesday in Hanoi to mark the 70^th anniversary of National Day and the Ullambana festival, which advocates and reinforces the concept of filial piety, and which falls in the 7^th lunar month of the year. Addressing the event, Deputy Head of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Bui Thanh Ha mentioned the Buddhist virtues of honesty, goodness, and beauty in educating living beings. He hailed the Buddhist Sangha at all levels for organizing activities to mark the occasion, including rituals to pray for peace, requiems to commemorate war martyrs, and other humanitarian activities to support disadvantaged people.
