Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc welcomes Vientiane’s Lord Mayor
(VOVworld) - Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said the Vietnamese Party and State always attach special importance to and give top priority to reinforcing and strengthening relations with Laos. During his reception for visiting Lord Mayor of Laos’ Vientiane, Sinlavong Khoutphaythoune, in Hanoi on Friday, Phuc stated that Vietnam’s ministries, sectors and localities are working hard to effectively implement agreements reached between the two countries. Phuc expressed his delight at the growing development of the all-around ties between Hanoi and Vientiane, saying he expects Hanoi’s development and integration experience will be helpful to its Lao partner in the future. Phuc also congratulated the Lao official on his new position as Vientiane Party Committee Secretary and Lord Mayor, hoping that Khoutphaythoune will contribute to further deepening the Vietnam-Laos special relationship.

The Vientiane leader spoke highly of the Vietnamese Party, State, Government and people’s support for Laos during its national defense in the past as well as its current socio-economic development. He said he hoped Vietnam will continue to assist Laos in personnel training and for the two sides to enhance their links in many fields, so as to realize their set collaborative objectives.
