Deputy PM Vu Van Ninh meets Harvard scholars

(VOV) - Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh and his delegation worked with leading scholars at Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts, on Thursday during their visit to the US from September 15-19.  Deputy PM Ninh and Harvard scholars exchanged views on the current US political situation, assessed Vietnam’s economic growth, compared Vietnam’s economic achievements with those of other economies at the same level, including India, Indonesia, and China, and drew lessons for Vietnam’s economy. The scholars applauded Vietnam’s achievements in economic development and global economic integration in recent years and said they expect Vietnam to maintain its positive growth in the years to come.

The scholars offered opinions on Vietnam’s growth strategy and advised Vietnam to reform its economic institutions with a focus on reforming state-owned businesses, public investment policies, and the banking sector.
