Deputy PM holds sideline meetings at UN session

(VOVworld) - Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh held separate bilateral meetings with the Belgian Prime Minister, Bulgarian Foreign Minister, and Hungarian Minister of External Economy and Foreign Affairs on the sidelines of the 71st Session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Thursday.

While meeting Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel, Mr. Minh affirmed Vietnam’s consistent policy of enhancing its relations with Belgium, Vietnam’s most important partner in the EU. Both leaders agreed to continue to tap their potential for cooperation in logistics, high-technology, green growth and vocational training.

At the meeting with Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov, Deputy PM Minh suggested Bulgaria accelerate the process of signing the Europe-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement and soon recognise Vietnam’s market economy status. Following the meeting, the two officials signed an agreement on real estate belonging to the two countries’ diplomatic representative offices.

Talking with Hungarian Minister of External Economy and Foreign Affairs Szijjarto Peter, both leaders said they hope to foster the bilateral traditional relationship across numerous fields.
