Mr. Ninh said Vietnam is accelerating its economic restructuring program, with a focus on renovating its growth model, aiming to achieve sustainable development. He proposed that the City of London share experience in developing financial services and mobilizing sources of capital, especially through the public-private partnership (PPP) model. Meanwhile, Ms. Woolf noted that British businesses are keen to explore and expand operations in the Vietnamese market. She said she is following Vietnam’s banking reforms and hopes to cooperate and share experience in the field with Vietnam. On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Ninh visited and worked with managers of Standard Chartered Bank (SCB). SCB managers expressed their hope that they will receive support from the Vietnamese government to expand their operations. Ninh is scheduled to hold talks with Foreign Secretary William Hague, and meet with major British investors on Wednesday.
