Members of the European Parliament fear that widespread use of robotics could have adverse impact on the labor market. The draft resolution calls on the European Commission to start monitoring job trends more closely so that it can better identify where positions are being created and lost. If automation turns out to be a ‘job killer’, the report insists that a general basic income should be seriously considered.
