Egypt announces new cabinet

Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Qandil on Thursday announced the members of Egypt’s new cabinet, the first cabinet of President Mohamed Mursi’s regime.

Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, Chairman of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Armed Forces, will continue to serve as Defense Minister. Members of the former cabinet, including Foreign Minister Mohammed Kamel Amr and Finance Minister Mumtaz al-Said will keep their posts in the new cabinet. Former Deputy Minister of the Interior Ahmed Gamal al-Din was appointed Interior Minister.
