(VOVworld) – An exhibition entitled “Two sisters – two frontlines” opened at the Vietnamese Women’s Museum in Hanoi on Friday, portraying how Vietnamese women fought and coped with the difficulties of wartime.

Nguyen Thien Nhan, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, said: "The northern Vietnamese, especially the women, played a very important role in our resistance war against the US aggressors. They took care of their parents and in-laws, did the farm work while still being ready to fight against the invaders, and encouraged their husbands to go to the front. The exhibition gives us a deeper understanding of their lives and made us prouder of all Vietnamese women."

The event is to mark International Women’s Day on March 8^th, the 55^th anniversary of the “Long-Haired Army” (1960-2015) and the 50^th anniversary of the “Three Responsibilities Movement" (1965-2015).
