FDI enterprises want Ho Chi Minh city to improve infrastructure

(VOVworld) – Ho Chi Minh city greatly appreciate the role of foreign direct invested enterprises in promoting the city’s economic development.

At a meeting between Ho Chi Minh city leaders and foreign enterprises, the participants said that in order to further attract foreign investment, the city needs to improve its transportation infrastructure and investment in human resource development especially in the high-tech sector. Many businesses asked the city to speed up administrative reform and make tax and customs regulations more transparent.

Ho Chi Minh city now takes the lead in FDI attraction, with more than 5,300 projects worth 36 billion USD. Last year, the city saw a sharp increase in foreign investment, with total capital estimated to be 2.8 billion USD, 3 times higher than in 2013.
