Field hospital ready for peacekeeping mission in South Sudan

(VOVworld) - Deputy Defence Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh has asked for personnel training and equipment preparations for the first Vietnamese field hospital to join the UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan. Field Hospital No1 is expected to become operational next April.

At a working session in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday with Military Hospital 175 and Vietnam’s first field hospital, Senior Lieutenant General Vinh asked the hospital to step up training in specialized military understanding and foreign language skills and be immediately ready for emergencies in Vietnam.

Mr. Vinh called on the hospital to send its staff members to visit the field hospitals of experienced countries like Japan and the UK to get acquainted with their situation and learn from their expertise.
