(VOVworld) – 400 foreign students including those who major in Vietnam studies and Vietnamese language gathered in a New Year celebration event in Hanoi on Friday afternoon.

During the celebration organized by the Vietnam Study and Language Faculty of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, there were a competition of cooking Vietnamese dishes, traditional games such as tug of war and bamboo dance, and singing. The highlight of the program was 13 stalls representing 13 nationalities of students. Dao Van Hung, Vice Dean of the Vietnam Study and Language Faculty, said :”The New Year festival for foreign students has been held for the recent 5 years. Students from various countries meet and learn from each other’s culture.”

The Faculty of Vietnam Studies and Language was established 40 years ago and began enrolling Vietnamese nationals in 2009.
