France to deploy nearly 11,000 police to assure security for climate summit
(VOVworld) - France will deploy nearly 11,000 police for the climate summit in Paris, which begins a little more than two weeks after the city's terror attacks.

French interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve said on Wednesday that 8,000 police and gendarmes would be posted to carry out border checks and 2,800 would be deployed at the conference venue north of Paris. Several other measures will also be put in place to ensure security during the conference. The COP21 climate conference which begins on Monday at Le Bourget, to the north of Paris, will be attended by 80 state leaders and representatives from 200 countries and territories.
