(VOVworld) – Generator 1 of the Lai Chau hydro power plant began its operations on Tuesday. Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said once it becomes operational, the Lai Chau hydro power plant and the Son La and Hoa Binh hydro power plants will produce one third of Vietnam’s hydro power.

He praised efforts by the project’s investor, the Electricity of Vietnam group, over the last 5 years to ensure the project’s progress. 10 collectives received the Labor Order, second and third class, for their contributions to building the Lai Chau hydro power plant.
