Germany, France, Poland call for Common European Security and Defense Policy

(VOVworld) – Foreign Ministers of Poland, Germany, and France, sent on Friday a joint letter to EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini, calling for a Common European Security and Defense Policy.

Polish foreign ministry said that Laurent Fabius of France, Walter Steinmeier of Germany, and Grzegorz Schetyna of Poland signed the joint letter during a meeting held in the Polish town of Wroclaw. A joint statement put forward after the meeting of three ministers regulates the policy will be a basis for EU’s response to security challenges. The letter sent to Mogherini is aimed to prepare for a meeting of the European Council in June, in which three countries will propose to build and develop satellite, unmanned aircraft, transfusing fuel in the air, and the internet.

Foreign ministers from Germany, France, and Poland discussed the EU security and conflicts in the world. They underlined the importance of ensuring EU solidarity, effectively protecting the interest of the bloc, stabilizing EU border and world order based on international law.
