Government meeting discusses ways to boost growth

(VOVworld) – The government meeting for May opened in Hanoi on Wednesday. Cabinet members discussed socio-economic development during May and the first 5 months of the year. They contributed opinions to removing hurdles to restructuring state-owned businesses and expanding export markets for farm produce. In his address, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung asked the relevant ministries and sectors to study opinions contributed at the meeting to quickly finalize and issue a government resolution on socio-economic management: “We have signed an FTA with the Republic of Korea and some other countries to expand our export market for coconuts, litchi, and dragon fruit. Our FTA negotiations with the EU are also about to be completed. We should create favorable conditions for businesses to boost their production.”

The Prime Minister asked localities to continue caring for the poor and policy beneficiaries, improve the quality of healthcare services, and successfully organize final exams for high school students nationwide.
