HCM City willing to expand cooperation with Francophone localities

(VOVworld) – Ho Chi Minh City hopes to cooperate with and receive support from overseas resources, including French-speaking countries and their localities, to address challenges such as urban traffic, environmental pollution and climate change.

Vice Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem made the statement while receiving a delegation of young Francophone parliamentarians led by Didier Le Bot, General Secretary of the Francophone Parliamentary Union (APF). Liem told his guests that relations between Vietnam and French-speaking nations have been developing strongly, bringing practical benefits to Vietnam, including HCM City.

Didier Le Bot highly evaluated the dynamism and responsible participation of Vietnam in the APF, particularly its efforts in hosting a number of APF conferences. He expressed his hope that the city will expand exchanges and cooperation, and share experience in socio-economic development with localities of Francophone countries.
