(VOVworld) – Hai Phong authorities and the Japan National Tourism Organization hosted a Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange festival together with a cherry blossom exhibition to introduce the beauty of Japan.

At Sunday's opening ceremony, Chairman of the Hai Phong municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tung affirmed the strong ties between Hai Phong city and Japan, evidenced by 130 Japan-invested projects in  the northern port city, worth 4 billion USD and representing more than 30 percent of Hai Phong’s total FDI. The cherry blossom exhibition will continue at Hai Phong’s central square until Tuesday.  100 cherry trees and 1,000 cherry branches donated by the government of Japan are on display.
