(VOVworld) – Nga Bay district in Hau Giang province has been commended for completing its new rural development criteria.

Deputy PM Vu Van Ninh (C) awards the PM’s decision to recognize Nga Bay district to complete new rural development criteria.

At a ceremony on Monday, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh called on Hau Giang province to build on its achievements so far and encourages local people to join efforts to develop the homeland sustainably.

Mr. Ninh, who heads the steering committee of the National Target Program on New Rural Development, said agricultural restructuring in combination with new rural development should focus on the development of advantageous products and application of science and technology to production.

Mr. Ninh called for “Hau Giang to make use of mechanisms and policies flexibly matching its specific conditions and outline a suitable roadmap for its new rural development in line with its contributions. Hau Giang also needs to maintain and improve the quality of the achieved criteria and complete the remainder in the next period.”
