The report says that the number of measles patients is at a record high in certain places in Hanoi attributing to parents sending their children directly to central hospitals that has caused the current overloads and cross-bacterial contamination.

Since the beginning of this year, more than 8,000 cases of scarlet fever have been detected, more than one third of them are tested positive to measles. The Health Ministry reports that there has no change in the gene and toxicity of the current measles virus in Vietnam.

To deal with the situation, the Prime Minister has allowed the Health Ministry to allocate 12 respirators from the national reserve of goods for three hospitals in Hanoi to meet the rising treatment demands.
