(VOVworld) –Ho Chi Minh City hopes the Canadian government will facilitate cooperation between the city and the Canadian locales in economics, infrastructure, tertiary education, and green technology.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong made a statement during a reception for Canada’s Foreign Minister Stephane Dion in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday.

Mr. Dion said Canada was willing to work with Ho Chi Minh City and considers the city key to building a cooperation program between the two nations in the future. They agreed that the cooperation between the two sides had not yet met its potential, adding Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular needed to identify key sectors for win-win cooperation.
