The court’s injunction was issued on Monday after Bus and Taxi operators in Mong Kok asked the court to ban protesters from occupying the section of Nathan Road between Argyle Street and Dundas Street in Mong Kok. The companies’ lawyer said since the companies’ profits have been drastically reduced since the “Occupy Central” movement began 3 weeks ago. China’s Xinhua news agency reported Monday that some 400 district councillors of 18 Hong Kong districts signed a document calling off student demonstrations. They said they respect the students’ aspiration for a better Hong Kong but hope the organisers will consider the negative impact on other peoples’ lives and Hong Kong’s economy.
