Improving Vietnam’s tourism competitiveness in the new period

(VOVworld) – A workshop on Vietnam’s tourism development in the new period opened in Hanoi on Tuesday. Delegates discussed specific actions following the government’s issuance of a resolution to unilaterally waive visa requirements for tourists from Belarus and 5 Western European countries as well as amendments to the Tourism Law for the National Assembly’s consideration in October next year.

They also discussed the organization and operations of the Fund for Tourism Development Support, which will be established by the government this year, as well as measures to improve the competitiveness of Vietnam’s tourism and tourism management. Vietnam now has approximately 1,500 international travel agencies, more than 13,000 domestic travel agencies, and over 15,500 tourist guides.
