(VOVworld) - The Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) held a regional conference on boosting social services for migrant women on Monday as part of a sideline activity of the establishment of the ASEAN Businesswomen Network.
The participants said national and international emigration was popular in many countries and was part of the international integration process. Emigrants from different countries have exchanged their cultures and customs, gained more knowledge, and earned more money. Emigration has created many opportunities for development. The participants discussed the challenges, good practices, and measures to boost social services for emigrant women and enhance cooperation between the ASEAN Women’s Union, ASEAN Businesswomen Network, UNHCR, and the relevant agencies to protect the rights of emigrant women in the region.
