Inauguration of a monument to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who died in Cambodia

 (VOVworld) – A requiem and ceremony to inaugurate a monument to the martyrs who were Vietnamese volunteer soldiers’ Front 479, stationed in Cambodia, were held in Bo De temple, Long Bien district, Hanoi.

The event which marks the 69th War Invalids and Martyrs Day, on July 27, reminded people of the glorious history, feats of arms and great sacrifices made by the former volunteer soldiers in Cambodia. Participants expressed their gratitude to those who died for national liberation and defense. The event consolidated comradeship and friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia, and honored those organizations and individuals who contributed to building the monument.

Covering an area of 40m2 in Bo De temple, the monument was built at a cost of 31,000 USD, which was raised by the Hanoi chapter of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association of former volunteer soldiers of Front 479.
