(VOVworld) - The Japanese Government Monday provided nearly 640,000 USD in non-refundable aid to central Thua Thien Hue province for a natural calamity adaptation project. The funding will be channeled through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The localities’ counterpart capital is nearly 40,000 USD.

Japan helps Thua Thien Hue adapt to natural calamity

The second phase of the project will be implemented from now until July 2016 focusing on natural disaster risk management with the community involvement, improvement of awareness about the issue, and enhancement of preventive measures against water-related natural disasters under integrated flood management system.
